Ebay - Research Rules to Live By by Robert Levine - 2003 Fact - Ebay, whether you like them or not, is the most popular internet marketplace for both buyers AND sellers. Fact - There are thousands of merchants selling their goods on Ebay, many with the same goods that you want to sell. Fact - You can still make money selling on Ebay, with some hard work and dedication. First off, before you get plunge into the Ebay marketplace you must know that unless you're extremely lucky, you're not going to become rich overnight. Making money, takes time, effort, and plenty of research. Good research will save you hundreds of dollars in wasted inventory by helping you determine what products sell, and at what price. A good place to start in doing Ebay research is at Andale.com and use their "Research" option. Input search terms in a category you're interested in like "Sony VAIO PCG-V505" for computers or "Panasonic TH-50PHD3U" for televisions, and you will be presented with a variety of informative statisics on how well (or poorly) the product is doing on Ebay. You can also see the actual finished Ebay listings upon which those stats are based, such as: 1) how frequently the auctions end to a completed sale, 2) the final price that the item sold for. You may want to also include terms such as "new" to filter out the used products. Once you find a product that you think is selling well on Ebay, your next step is to find that product at the cheapest possible price. You can do this by browsing a variety of wholesale sources, or by using search engines for your product. Some good engines that connect you up with wholesalers here in the US and also abroad are: 1) www.wholesalecentral.com 2) www.alibaba.com 3) www.dropshippermall.com 4) www.globalsources.com 5) www.trade-india.com/index.html Sometimes it is hard to find the products at a reasonable rate, and it is sometimes equally as difficult to find a reliable source for your goods. However, good deals can be found, especially if you purchase your items in bulk. Often individuals lack the financial ability to buy in large lots and thus cannot take advantage of the price breaks that usually accompany buying in lots. But don't let that stop you from starting your business, because as you begin to make sales, and reinvest your earnings, you can be buying items in bulk in no time at all! ----------------------------------------------------------------- Robert Levine is the owner of a number of successful e-businesses such as www.DropShipperMall.com and www.YourOwnStore.com. DropShipperMall.com provides FREE wholesale lists and articles to it's users. YourOwnStore.com provides a cheap and easy e-commerce setup for anyone looking to start their own business.
